Patience

It is June already! Half the way through 2016. How is the year coming around for you? Do you need to make any life changing decisions so that the next 6 months are going to be better?

The subject of this month’s Newsletter/Blog is: PATIENCE with all letters capital, big & fat! Patience, or the art of waiting, sipping tea, not going bonkers. How are you and Patience getting along nowadays?

PATIENCE

Once upon a time…

The dictionary defines patience as “the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, problems, or suffering without becoming annoyed or anxious”.

Without becoming annoyed or anxious.
Anger and anxiety.
The Siri Singh Sahib Yogi Bhajan says, inner anger is like an ingrown hair – it is so difficult to get rid of it! Why would you want to risk that?

…there was a virtue called patience
Yes, being patient can be difficult, but it doesn’t have to be. Life forces us to wait and be patient for many things: appointments, love relationships, money, accomplishments… I want you to reflect on two things:
If you sow, you will reap.  (Jim Rohn)
Patience is not simply the ability to wait – it’s how we behave while we’re waiting. (Joyce Meyer)

Better results

First consider this: if you have laid the grounds for something to happen, you have vibrated the cosmos and clearly stated your intentions, then you will harvest. What you sow in spring you reap in autumn. It is only logical.

Unless, to stay in the metaphor, yes unless there is a natural catastrophe that destroys your crop.

The good news is: we are only talking metaphorically. The only real threat to your harvest is, well, I am sorry to say it, but it is YOU…

Ask yourself this: who do you have to become in the process?
Can you receive just as equally well as you are giving?

Give and receive equally
You have signed a deal with the universe: you have clearly stated an intention, started a job, taken an action that at some point will lead to a result. Now receive it! Don’t close yourself to the results.

Remember: there is no such thing as failure, only feedback. If you don’t get a result, it is your result. You are supposed to learn from it.

Gratefulness
Do you ever congratulate yourself on having been sufficiently patient? Why not? Celebrate even the small steps. Having been patient is a result. You can celebrate.

Being open to receiving and then commemorating this by expressing your gratitude can really enhance the way you engage with your life.

Studies traced impressive benefits to the simple act of writing down things for which you are grateful in your life, benefits like better sleep, fewer symptoms of illness, and more happiness.

Have you ever tried keeping a gratitude journal? Get upfront and personal with yourself. What are you grateful for today? How does it make you feel?

In conclusion

Me and Patience have a relationship that is constantly being challenged. Mostly by myself. Patience doesn’t really do anything. She just sits there waiting. But this is my personal growth process. I hope that you can take some time in the next month to become conscious about patience, and being patient. About being open to equally give and receive, and maybe start to write down a few things each day for which you are grateful for. Eckhart Tolle, author of A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose, says:
Acknowledging the good that you already have in your life is the foundation for all abundance.

You are doing great! Keep up and you will be kept up.
